Sometimes we get lucky. This beautiful washed Ka'u coffee is one of those times.

Our goal with Ka'u Morning Glory is to find the best representation of the region. Every year, we taste coffees from several different farms and micro climates. And, every year, we've been able to find better and better coffees to showcase this famed district's character. This season is no exception.

Coffees grows in three primary areas of Ka'u: Cloud Rest, Pear Tree and Wood Valley. After working quite extensively with both Cloud Rest and Pear Tree coffees in the past, we turned our attention to Wood Valley earlier this year. Home to the Nechung Dorje Drayang Ling -- "Immutable Island of Melodious Sound" -- Buddhist temple, we've had a personal affinity for the area for a few years with its gorgeous, peaceful and mystical awe. Wood Valley itself has been visited and blessed by his holiness the Dali Lama on three occasions.

This year's Ka'u Morning Glory is grown at 2200' feet, nestled in the middle of Wood Valley, less than a mile from the temple. The combination of terroir, ripe-red harvesting and skillful washed processing makes this delicious, buttery-sweet Ka'u coffee an absolute knockout.
